Die Teilnehmerinnen am Girls´Day

Future Meets IT – Girls’ Day at HCM SSC.

IT is omnipresent. It organizes, controls, and connects – often without being consciously noticed. But who is behind the systems that keep companies running? How are digital solutions created that make work processes more efficient? Questions like these were at the heart of Girls’ Day at HCM SSC GmbH.

On April 4, 2025, four curious participants – Luisa, Odessa, Bindi Sue, and Marie – got the chance to go behind the scenes of the SAP world. Their goal: to explore what a career in IT entails and to understand the role SAP® HCM plays in managing a company’s human resources

From Everyday Life in IT to the SAP® Demo

The day kicked off with Nikola, our former trainee. He introduced the IT Management Assistant training program and gave the participants a hands-on insight into daily professional life. He explained which skills are particularly in demand in IT and how diverse the tasks in this field can be.

Interactive Q&A sessions helped the participants discover for themselves how IT already influences their daily lives – from digital school registration to the app that organizes their next concert ticket

After a short break – complete with a Mario Kart challenge – the participants got a look at the work we do at HCM SSC GmbH, focusing on our specialty: SAP HCM consulting and development. In a live demo, Helen showed how companies use SAP to manage personnel administration, handle leave requests, and process payroll. It quickly became clear: IT is much more than just code – it connects people, processes, and data.

A Look into the Future

What does a developer actually do? What career opportunities exist in IT? And how is software developed Answers to these questions came from a behind-the-scenes look at our development department. From idea to implementation – the participants got to see how customer requirements are turned into digital solutions A small coding test showed that programming can be not only logical but also creative.

Hopefully, the day helped the four participants to put their own future in IT more into perspective We believe that Girls’ Day offered not only a glimpse into the world of SAP, but above all, inspiration. After all, the IT sector needs talent – and it doesn’t matter what gender you are.

The exciting day concluded with the participants holding their ‘Junior IT Expert’ certificates and brimming with new experiences. Who knows – for some of the participants, this might have been the first step into a digital future.
